A Chorus Line Returns To The London Palladium From 5 February

A Chorus Line London PalladiumA Chorus Line, the musical within a musical set during auditions for a new show, returns to London for the first time since its initial run at the Theate Royal Drury Lane in the 1970s. Performances start at the London Palladium from 5 February.

This production will also see the return of director and original 1970s choreographer Bob Avian, and features a stellar cast. The lead actor, playing the show’s director Zach, will be John Partridge (best known for his role as Christian Clarke in EastEnders) with other roles being filled by Scarlett Strallen (currently playing Kathy in Singing’ In The Rain at the Palace Theatre), Leigh Zimmerman (twice appearing in Chicago in the West End, and nominated for an Olivier award for his performance as Ulla at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane production of The Producers) and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, who has played Alex in the West End production of Flashdance and Anita in the international touring production of West Side Story.

Andrew Lloyd Webber, founder of the Really Useful Group, the theatre’s owners said:

“I am delighted to welcome A Chorus Line into The London Palladium. This classic Broadway production has not been seen in the West End for almost 35 years. Marvin Hamlisch was a great friend and supporter in my early career and I can think of no more fitting tribute to him than this major revival.”

Alongside the seasoned performers A Chorus Line will also feature the debut West End appearances of Alice Jane Murray and Marc Leslie who braved the open auditions last September which saw 2000 young hopefuls pitch up for an opportunity to take part in this new production.

A Chorus Line is scheduled to run through until at least the beginning of 2014 – only time will tell if it can achieve the success of the Broadway original which clocked up a massive 6137 performances, making it the longest running musical on Broadway

Tickets are already on sale for the show, which makes its debut on 5 February. You can find more details about the show and pick up tickets at the London Palladium’s official website here.
