Fingers On The Buzzer With Thinking Bob

Earlier this week I went down to the Old Bank Of England, a glorious pub converted from a very grand 19th century banking hall next to the Royal Courts of Justice, for one of the regular ‘Thinking Bob‘ events – a pub quiz complete with buzzers for some very quick fire rounds.

The quiz covered various areas of general knowledge including topical news, an ‘on this day in history’ section and a rather challenging picture round. During the break the teams were also awarded points for constructing a pig out of tin foil (I thought the very arty ‘pigs ear’ that one of the teams put together was great) and for remembering the salient features of a poster outside the room where we had gathered.

It was only a couple of quid to enter, and a very pleasant way to spend an evening. The ‘Thinking Bob‘ events are a great opportunity to meet new people, particularly if you’re new to town. In addition to pub quizzes, the Thinking Bob team also arrange guided walks (there’s one around Soho tomorrow), Murder Mystery evenings, live debates, dinner parties and wine tastings, so there’s something for everyone.
